getting to know richland one

Richland One is a nationally accredited school district, a prestigious distinction that reflects a community-wide commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

We are located in Columbia, the Palmetto State's capital city and a great place to live, work and play. Because of our central location, South Carolina's picturesque mountains, beaches and other attractions are just a short drive away.

We educate more than 23,000 students at 50 schools in urban, suburban and rural neighborhoods. Our students represent 41 countries and as many languages. We offer an exciting and challenging array of educational opportunities that include Montessori programs, International Baccalaureate programs and advanced academic programs. Our graduates go on to attend some of the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities.

Just walk into any of our schools and you'll see evidence of the vigorous community support that our district enjoys. Thanks to Richland One voters, our students go to school in first-class, state-of-the-art facilities that rival those of any other district across the country.

Richland One is more than just a school district. We are a community of learners with one vision, one mission and one com
